The third annual Walk a Mile In Her Shoes: An International Men’s March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault and Gender Violence takes place Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the University Playhouse, 51st and Holmes streets. The march begins at 6 p.m. and a cookout begins at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the University of Missouri-Kansas City Violence Prevention and Response Project and the Kansas City Anti-Violence Project. David Belt, ManUp! coordinator at the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault, and State Rep. Beth Low will speak at the event. Participants can win awards for top fundraising teams and individuals. Registration includes a T-shirt and the cookout and is $15 for students with their own heels, $20 for students renting heels, $30 for non-students with their own heels and $50 for non-students renting heels.
