LEVI RESIGNS FROM CHAMBER

Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce President Pete Levi has announced his resignation from the organization, effective Dec. 31.

In a letter to the chamber’s board of directors, Chairwoman Anne St. Peter said, “After 19 years as president and CEO of the Greater Kansas City Camber of Commerce, Pete Levi informed me last evening of his decision to resign his post at the end of the year to start a new chapter in his life, a chapter that will involve continued service to the Kansas City community and more time with his family and soon-to-be-born first grandchild.”

St. Peter said the board will form a search committee to find Levi’s replacement.

“I was given the unique opportunity to work for a community I have treasured since grade school, in collaboration with good friends, colleagues, business leaders, companies large and small, outstanding chairs, and literally hundreds of board members committed to the betterment of greater Kansas City and the chamber,” Levi said.

TRAVELER MAP UPDATED

The Traveler Information Map, which has become a popular destination on the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Web site, www.modot.org/kansascity, has some new features.

The map always shows active work zones, but MoDOT has enhanced the display and new blue icons show roadwork for seven days in advance. The feature was added in response to several requests from travelers and motor carriers.

“Using this tool, you can find out what to expect when you head out for a trip a week in advance,” Pete Rahn, MoDOT director, said. “Our goal is to provide information that makes for memorable trips, not miserable ones.”

Work zones may be delayed by weather or other factors, but most will start on the date shown. The feature also includes information on what kind of work zone will be in place and whether travelers should seek an alternate route.
