Local teams compete in Hy-Vee Shootout

Several local boys and girls basketball teams will compete in the annual Hy-Vee Shootout Thursday through Saturday at Avila University.
The Hy-Vee Shootout pits Missouri teams against Kansas teams in 16 different games. Contests will be aired on Metro Sports.

The girls take over the gym on Friday, with Pembroke Hill playing Shawnee Mission West at 2:30 and St. Teresa's taking on St. Thomas Aquinas at 7 p.m. There are several other games on Friday including Hickman Mills against Blue Valley North at 8:30 p.m.
The bulk of the boys games come on Saturday. The two Wednesday Sun school playing include Pembroke Hill taking on Shawnee Mission West at 10 a.m., and Rockhurst challenges Blue Valley North at 4 p.m. Other games of note include Grandview against St. Thomas Aquinas at 2:30 p.m. and Ruskin versus Schlagle at 1 p.m.
